    Week of May 8th


    After weeks of waiting, the website forms are finally ready!  We greatly appreciate your patience! Please go to and click on the Forms tab.  There are TWO forms to fill out:  The first is the Information and Contribution Form.  This page is linked with PayPal, as the contribution, buttons, and auto decals are handled on this page.  Everyone enrolled in band needs to fill out this form.  We need the information for our records, and the contribution is extremely important.  The costs for music, music arrangements, drill writing, bussing, website expenses, trailer expenses, etc, add up rapidly.  We count on the contribution to fund the majority of our year, and with our fundraising efforts going to the trip the past two years, the contribution this year is more important than ever.

Week of January 2nd

Booster Meeting This Thursday, January 5 at 7:00 PM in the band room.  We have a busy spring semester ahead, so please plan to attend!  There is a basketball game on Thursday, so parking in the Seacrest lot may be necessary.

I hope to see many of you on Thursday at the Booster meeting!

$4,271.72–this is the amount that we brought in during the 2016 Gateway Mall Gift Wrapping! We are busy working on individual fundraising totals, and will communicate them as soon as they are ready.  We ask for your patience during this time.

Week of December 19th

Welcome to Finals Week!  Hang in there students, the end is in sight!

Gateway Mall Gift Wrap–Please Read!!

We are in our Finals Week here, as well.  Thank you to those that have signed up and worked already.  This week is our busiest, and we still have some crucial spots to fill.  Please consider spending some time helping our students with this effort. If you can help on Christmas Eve but not in the exact time slots on the sign-up sheet, please email me and let me know what will work for you. We can put together a schedule that will work.

Week of December 12th

Uniform Help Still Needed!

Tomorrow morning from 8:00-10:00–many hands will make for quick work!  We’ll be preparing the uniforms for pick-up by Williams Dry Cleaners.  We’ll make a pile of coats and a pile of pants. We will put garment bags, hangers, and colored section markers away. We will bag and label any personal items left in the garment bags.
Tuesday, Dec. 20 3:00pm: Williams Cleaners will return uniforms. We need 10 students and/or parents to hang the coats and pants on the racks in numerical order.

Bakers Chocolates Sales & Money Turn-In

We will have a table set up outside the auditorium for any last-minute chocolate sales–we even have some already wrapped!–and to turn in your money if you previously picked up chocolates to sell.  If you missed previous opportunities to get a case or two to sell–it isn’t too late!  We still have a few cases available for purchase.

Bakers Meltaway Chocolates!

8oz box decorated with a Christmas Tree. You’ll sell the boxes for $7.00 and your profit will be $3.50 per box, to go towards your individual band account. We ask that you take either a half case (12 boxes) or a whole case (24 boxes). Contact Marita Schafers Ward at 402-217-3630 (text or call) or to make arrangements to pick up your supply. We’ll also have a supply available at the next East High Band Boosters meeting on Thursday, December 1st. Turn in of unsold candy and/or money collected will be on Monday, December 12th at the East High Band Concert.

Week of November 7th

Dine out at Chipotle this Tuesday!.Come in to the Chipotle at 6005 O Street Suite A between 5:00pm and 8:00pm. Bring in the flyer, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Lincoln East Band Boosters.

Participate in SCRIP! See the “Getting Started With SCRIP” flyer which is attached.  Earn money for your student’s band account on items you will already be purchasing!  Also see the attached flyer titled “TSD November” for some amazing scrip deals offered on November 22 only.

Mill Coffee

It’s time to stock up on coffees, hot chocolates, teas and even some cider!

Christmas gifts, holiday gatherings with some cider, sitting with a cup of amazing hot chocolate watching it snow (yes, I’m sorry, it is going to snow at some point)

Next order due date is Dec 1.

You can bring the order to the Booster meeting, mark the envelope to East Band Boosters and drop it off at the main office of the High School or mail it.

Week of October 31st

Tuesday, November 1st is the final day to add/drop to the trip list for the San Francisco Trip

The November band booster meeting is Tuesday the 1st at 7:00 PM.  The school musical, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, opens on Thursday, so that is why the meeting is on Tuesday. (There are a lot of band kids in the musical, both on stage and in the pit.  It runs Thursday-Saturday at 7:00 PM.)

Come to the meeting to find out what is next, now that marching band season has ended.  The band room is a busy place.

Fundraising Notes:

Grocery scrip cards: Orders will be available for pick-up at Tuesday’s meeting.

Fundraiser orders:  The Mill, Marcus Theater and Krispy Kreme orders will be due on Tuesday, November 1.  See our fundraiser page at for order forms.

Eat out at Chipotle to Support East Band on Wednesday, November 9!  Watch your email for a special flyer, which will be required to participate.  East will receive 50% from those that attend and tell Chipotle that they are supporting our band.

End of Year Giving  Individuals as well as businesses are often looking for worthy groups to fulfill their charitable giving. Week of October 17th

We need just a little bit more help before the season is over!  We still need some parents to help with the pit crew at Friday’s football game and the competition on Saturday. It would be great if we could give the parents of seniors these last performances off.

On Saturday, the Boosters provide pizza for the students prior to their NSBA performance.  We need some bottled water and cookies to round out the feast.

ArtFX Clothing Pick-Up  If you missed last Saturday’s pick-up, please call Mary Linafelter at 402-450-4750. to arrange a time to pick up your order.

There are still a few Infamy shirts left. There are a couple of small and medium short and long sleeve T’s, as well as large and x-large in both styles.  We’ll have them available on Saturday from 3:30 PM until 4:30 PM, outside the band room.   (more…)

Week of October 10th

Parents of seniors, if you are feeling nostalgic, don’t read the next sentence!  We are heading into the home stretch of Marching Band Season.  Some will be relieved, others will be sad, everyone will be glad to get more sleep!

There are three more opportunities to see the show!  This Saturday, October 15, is the LPS Invitational competition, Friday, October 21 at the final home game (and Senior Night), and Saturday, October 22 at the NSBA competition. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see the show yet, you are in for an amazing treat.

Spartan Band Apparel and Infamy Shirts

The orders that were placed with ArtFx are due to arrive this week.  Please watch your email for the announcement!

There are still some Infamy shirts available!  I will be at in and around the band room on Saturday prior to the competition.  Cost is $10.00.  Just look for Jaimie McGowan.

Week of October 3rd

Harvest of Harmony was a long but great day!  Thank you to all of you that helped in any way, from donating water, ordering and picking up food, bus chaperones, equipment help, uniform help, cheering on the band, etc. Check out this link for a great article that appeared in the Grand Island Independent.


Grocery Scrip Orders Due Now!  Get your order to Becky Miratsky at by Tuesday at 9:00 AM, October 4.  They will be ready to pick up at the Booster Meeting onThursday, October 6.

The Mill:  It’s cooling off and you know what that means…time to try some teas, hot chocolates and coffee from The Mill!
Order forms are on the website. Money earned will go towards your student’s individual account. Orders are due each month at the Booster Meetings – next deadline is Thursday Oct 6th.

Marcus Theater Tickets and Krispy Kreme Donuts:  These order forms are also found on our website, with the orders being due at our monthly Booster Meetings.
