    PICTURE DAY IS THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 19TH
    8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
    Main (South) Gym

     WHAT IS PICTURE DAY?
    Saturday is the day when all band members will have their pictures taken. We will take pictures of each individual band member, each section, and then the entire band including the 9th graders and color guard. We will also take pictures of our seniors.

    WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PICTURE DAY?
    Besides being an opportunity to have professional pictures taken of our band, this event is a fundraiser!  Proceeds from the sale of pictures, memory mates, and other photo products will support the #savethetubas campaign.

    SHOULD I ATTEND?
    All band members, including 9th graders, upperclassmen, and color guard, are highly encouraged to attend.

     WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
    Please remember to bring your instruments!!
    Please also remember to bring your order forms (see below).

    WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE? DO I HAVE TO STAY FOR THE ENTIRE TIME?
    Please arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. Students should plan to stay for the entire session. We anticipate finishing by 11:30 a.m.

    WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? WILL PICTURES BE TAKEN IN MY UNIFORM?
    You will be photographed in your uniform.

    • If you have received your band clothes (white t-shirt and shorts), please bring/wear them to the event to wear them under your uniform. If you have not received your band clothes, please bring/wear a white t-shirt and shorts

    We will have assistants available to help you get into your uniform. You should be in uniform and ready to be photographed at 9:00 a.m.

    Students WILL NOT be allowed to eat or drink while in uniform.

    WHAT WILL HAPPEN ONCE WE GET INTO OUR UNIFORM?
    Students will have their photo taken at three stations (one as an individual, one in their section, and one for the entire band). Seniors will also have their photos taken as well.

    WHERE CAN I FIND AN ORDER FORM?

    Please print the order form and bring it, along with your check, made payable to John Peterson Photography, for the full payment, on Saturday morning.

    WHAT PHOTO ITEMS CAN I ORDER?
    There are a variety of photo products you can purchase including individual, section and combined band prints, memory mates (see example on the left), magnets, key chains and statuettes. There are also packages you can purchase. Remember–proceeds from the sale of photo products will support the #savethetubas campaign!!!

    • Purchases are strictly voluntary. You are under no obligation to purchase any photo products.

     

     

    WHAT ABOUT PHOTO BUTTONS?
    The individual pictures taken on Saturday will be used for the photo buttons.

    If you have already ordered a photo button this year, you do not need to reorder them.

    If you still need to order a photo button, we will have order forms available on Saturday.Order forms can be accessed at http://goband.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Photo-Button-Order-Form.pdf

    Photo buttons are $8.00 each.

    CAN I STILL ORDER CAR DECALS?
    Due to overwhelming interest, we have decided to extend the deadline to order car decals. If you still want to order a decal, we will have order forms available on Saturday.  You can also access the form at http://goband.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Auto-Decal-Order-Form.pdf

    Decals are $10.00 each.

    WHEN DO EARLY REHEARSALS START?
    Wednesday, Aug. 16th is the answer. We will start that day at 7:15am at Seacrest and continue from there on our early morning schedule: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri at 7:30am on the Band Practice Field, Wednesdays at 7:15am at Seacrest. Some students prefer to take instruments home on Tuesday, allowing them to go directly to Seacrest without coming to the Band room early Wednesday and that is more than ok.

    Students will need their coordinate sheet as we will need to review all sets since there will be students who weren’t at camp that will need to catch up. If this sheet has been lost the coordinates can be found in the google classroom.

    Another note, calendar related. The Booster Blitz date varies from year to year and therefore was not on our original performance dates calendar. That will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24th. This is a night when the band will perform part of the show on the practice field, then head down to Stuart field for a pep rally. I’ll have more details and times out once the full itinerary is set.

    Hey Band!  A few events coming up that I forgot to talk about during camp:

    1. 9th Grade Day (Monday, Aug. 14):  We will have the drumline perform from 7:40-8:00am and the leadership come in at 1:00pm to play at the pep rally at the end of the day.  Please wear blue polos.  Shorts/pants are normal school wear.

    2.  Parent Welcome Night (Monday, Aug. 21),: Drumline will play for this event as well.  Times will be released soon so stay tuned.

    DID SOMEONE SAY CHIPOTLE???

    Please join us for a fundraiser at Chipotle at 60th & O Street (next to the LPS District Office) on Wednesday, August 16th from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. to support the Lincoln East Band Boosters. If you print the Chipotle flyer below and tell the cashier you are there to support the cause, 50% of the proceeds that night will be donated to the Boosters!

     


    BAND PICTURE DAY

    Photos of all band members, including 9th graders and upperclassmen, will be taken on Saturday, August 19th in the Main Gym.   All students are HIGHLY encouraged to attend.  For students who have a conflict on this day, arrangements may be made to have individual photos taken at another time.  Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to take sectional or group photos on another day.  Sectional and group photos will only be taken on Picture Day.

    Reporting times for each section will be announced in the coming days.

    Students will be photographed in their uniforms. Please bring your instruments with you!

    Individual and section photos will be taken starting at 9:00 a.m. Group photos will be taken at approximately 10:30 a.m. We will also take pictures of freshman band, the main band, and the combined band with color guard. We will also take a picture of our seniors which will be used in various publications this year.

    We will have several professional photographers available that day to keep the students on schedule. We anticipating finishing by 12:00 p.m.

    An online order form will be available soon on our website for photos, photo buttons, and other mementos. Just some of the NEW items being offered this year include memory mates, magnets and keychains, along with individual, section, group and senior prints.

    We are looking for some volunteers to help the students with their uniforms, to take order forms and payments, and to escort the students to the staging area. If you are interested, signup sheets are available at http://goband.org/boosters/sign-up-sheets/.


    BOOSTER BLITZ

    The Booster Blitz, the annual celebration of fall sports, will be held on Thursday, August 24th in the south parking lot (outside of the band room) from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The Athletic Boosters have lined up Valentino’s, Chick-Fil-A, Kona Ice and Schwans. The band and the Apollonaires will also perform during the event.

    The Band Boosters will be selling water, pop, candy, popcorn, and pompoms. We are looking for some volunteers to help clean up/tear down and man the sales tables. Sign-up sheets are available at http://goband.org/boosters/sign-up-sheets/.


    ART FX APPAREL ORDER FORMS—COMING SOON

    We know many of you are anxious to order this year’s band/spirit apparel from Art FX. An online order form will be available soon on the band’s website (goband.org). Orders will then be taken for one week.   We will announce the order form as soon as it is available.
