Marching Band Instructions

Game Day and Performance Schedule
On game days, the band room will be open 2 1/2 hours prior to game time (4:30 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. evening game).  It is the responsibility of each band member to have all equipment necessary and to be on time for the pregame rehearsal.

The following schedule will be used as the standard preparation mode for the home game performances. Proper mental and physical preparation can influence the overall quality of an upcoming performance. This schedule is designed to encourage small group warm-up and to offer the leadership staff the opportunity to work with their respective sections.

Drumline and Colorguard preparation schedules may differ slightly to accommodate the extended warm-up time necessary for these sections. (Times in parentheses are for the 4:30 p.m. game days)

4:45 – 5:00 p.m. (n/a)   Bring a sack lunch if you know you will not have time to go home and eat prior to the game. (THERE IS NO EATING IN UNIFORM!!)

5:15 p.m. (3:00 p.m.)   Meet with section leaders and drum majors (stretch and practice fundamental performance techniques)

5:30 p.m. (3:10 p.m.)   Full group warm-up and run through rehearsal

6:00 p.m. (3:30 p.m.)   Get into full uniform – uniform inspection by rank leaders  (Girls and Guys with long hair – PLEASE arrive to the band room with your hair already up)

6:30 p.m. (4:00 p.m.)   Assemble for trooping to the stadium. Once we arrive at the stadium, we will set up in the stands. Be prepared to perform at any time during the game.

7:00 p.m. (4:30 p.m.)    Game Time

Competition Days will follow a similar schedule. The schedule for each competition day will be given to the students one week prior to the competition.

Please note: All football games will be in full uniform unless told otherwise by the directors. Please be proactive in getting this information to employers, church, etc. We will stay until the game is over, period. Failure to do so may result in lowering of grade and possible loss of performance privileges.
